How was interest captured?
Read the source and the actual request. A form, a call, and a written email reply contain different context.
SHARED VS. EXCLUSIVE INSURANCE LEADS
Compare shared quote requests, exclusive web leads, and Homefield’s exclusive email replies. The useful question is how each source turns into written policies for your agency.
THE DEFINITIONS
| Format | How it works | What exclusivity means |
|---|---|---|
| Shared insurance leads | A provider distributes the same consumer inquiry to more than one agency. | Check the buyer cap and whether competing agents represent the same carrier. |
| Exclusive web leads | A provider offers a consumer inquiry to one buyer under its product terms. | Ask whether exclusivity applies to the record, a carrier, a period, or the territory. |
| Homefield email leads | A homeowner replies to an email sent in your agency’s name. | The reply goes only to your agency, and your ZIPs are protected against other Homefield home insurance agencies. |
PUBLISHED PROVIDER OPTIONS
EverQuote’s agent FAQ describes both exclusive and shared leads, with its shared product limited to a maximum of three agents and one agent per carrier. QuoteWizard’s agent site advertises shared and exclusive insurance leads as well as live transfer products. Product terms, availability, and pricing should be confirmed with each provider.
Homefield’s product is different in how interest begins: an agency-approved outbound email receives a written homeowner reply. Homefield does not provide live transfers or sell raw email lists.
Provider descriptions checked September 17, 2026: EverQuote agent FAQ and QuoteWizard for agents. Homefield is not affiliated with either company.
BEFORE YOU BUY
Read the source and the actual request. A form, a call, and a written email reply contain different context.
Ask about maximum buyers, carrier restrictions, resale, and any territory protection.
Review duplicates, territory, invalid contacts, and the window for requesting a credit.
Include onboarding, deposits, recurring fees, lead spend, and your team’s follow-up time.
Confirm the provider’s launch time and supply. Homefield typically takes about 21 days to first leads.
Check the source documentation and your obligations before using any phone number or sending follow-up.
YOUR OWN NUMBERS
A lower lead price can still produce a higher acquisition cost if fewer leads convert. Compare each source in your agency’s own records over the same period: lead spend, qualified leads, quotes, written policies, and retention when enough time has passed.
For an illustration, 200 Homefield leads at the $25 Scale rate cost $5,000. At a 12% planning close rate, that is 24 policies and $208.33 in lead cost per policy. Neither conversion rate nor outcome is promised.
